Strings Program

Dear Parents/Guardians:
We are delighted to announce that once again the SD 73 Strings Program will be offered at Barriere Secondary School!
Classes will take place after school on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30 at Barriere Secondary.
Instruction for the program is generously paid for by the School District and families are only responsible for covering the costs of renting an instrument.
Students can choose to play either the violin or cello. Instruments can be rented at Long & McQuade Music, located downtown at 955 Lorne Street. Violins rent for approximately $20 per month and cellos rent for approximately $40 per month.
Beginner and Advanced students are welcome to join. Music will be provided at a range of ability levels.
Classes run until June 2024. We look forward to sharing our progress with you throughout the year!
Our first day of classes will be Wednesday, October 4. Please note classes do not run on statutory holidays, nor Professional Development days. Classes follow the school year calendar and are not offered during winter break, nor spring break.
